My obsession with the City of Love is no secret. After all, it was a favorite stop on Eric & I’s European adventure a few years ago and where he popped the question! How could I not love Paris when my time there involved eating endless pain au chocolat and the best surprise of my life??
For this reason, we always have our eyes open for sweet treats or little places that give us a little Paris in Chicago. My favorite spot has been Maison Parisienne in Lakeview East.
This French café imports all butter, flour and chocolate from France, giving customers an authentic taste of the real deal. I really can taste the difference compared to the other pastries we’ve tried around the city!
On our most recent visit, we snagged a warm spot in the front on cozy chairs that basked in the sun. Eric chose pain aux raisins and coffee, while I opted for a croissant and chai tea latte. Um, hello, how precious is that latte art?!
I’ve gotten a few questions about those beaded tassel earrings – SUGARFIX by BaubleBar for Target, y’all. I love them. They’ve got them in tons of colors and they’re less than $15.00 – check ’em out here.
When I wear these, I like to let them be the star. They can take a simple outfit up a notch – perfect for when I was trying to channel some chic, Parisian style for our café outing!
In addition to delicious sweets, Maison Parisienne also has savory options quiche lorraine and various baguette sandwiches – making it a great meet up spot for a light brunch or lunch.
So if you find yourself looking for a little Paris in Chicago like me, you’ve need to stop in! This spot is open daily until 5:00 pm, with the exception of 4:00 pm on Sunday and being closed Monday.
What are places that bring you back to trips you loved??
