Fort Worth Explorin’ – Part Deux

Halfway through the week wahoo! Today, I thought I’d share the last bit of a quick weekend getaway to visit my dear friend, Madeline, in Fort Worth. We had so much fun playing tourist so I could explore the TCU campus and try all her favorite local eats!

For dinner Saturday night, we faced the torrential downpour and went to Rodeo Goat. Battling the rain with our unreliable umbrellas was totally worth it as we munched on delicious burgers and fries. Madeline went with her regular top choice, the Whiskey Burger, and I opted for the Nanny Goat – I’m a sucker for goat cheese. Bonus? They even had my favorite Austin East Cider on hand that I got to enjoy with the meal.

The last stop to share from my visit was the brunch stop we made on Sunday morning at a place called Brewed. Madeline and I are in agreement that if Anthropologie – which is beyond one of the cutest stores in all the land – had a coffee shop child, this would be it. The decor is beautiful, I’m sad I didn’t have my better camera for more photos, and the food was delish. Madeline ate the Chicken & Waffles, and I had the Berry Berry Waffle. I’m usually a syrup kind of gal, but I still enjoyed trying the berry compote and most importantly, the waffle was the bomb.

The great thing about Madeline and I’s friendship, which I feel is the same with so many wonderful and close and silly friendships, is that you can reunite and it’s truly like you haven’t skipped a beat. One of the best things we did this weekend was revisit some of our early 2000s favorites by watching sketchy quality YouTube episodes of Degrassi and jam to Swedish girl band Play – strike some nostalgia in any one else too?? It was a fabulous throwback session.

Got any other good Fort Worth spots I missed, or childhood faves you still revisit with old friends? I’d love to hear!
